2025 Mental Health Summit Speakers



Event Emcee – Kelly Flagg, Executive Director of AGC Maine
Kelly was born and raised in Wiscasset, Maine and while she greatly enjoys traveling and seeing what the world has to offer for adventures, she has always lived right here in Maine. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Health and Fitness, and a Minor in Business. She has been a leader and an entrepreneur from the very start, and has taken every business or public speaking class she possibly could throughout her education and career. She has a depth of professional experiences that include general management and financial growth of several small businesses, including ownership of a small, family owned and operated landscape construction firm from 2003 through 2011. This led her to the construction industry in 2011 as the Safety and Human Resources Manager for CCB Construction where she became truly passionate about employee development and training. Over the last 10 years, she has continued to hone her skills as a public speaker, leadership development trainer and manager. She recently joined AGC Maine as the Executive Director and is honored to be serving the AGC member companies and the Maine construction industry.

Opening – Rich Jones, Chief Clinical Officer at BuildWell Health
Rich Jones is an experienced therapist, clinician, and health care entrepreneur operating primarily in the behavioral health space. He has wide-ranging professional experience across nearly all behavioral health domains, including mental health, substance use disorders, cooccurring disorders, and intellectual disabilities. Rich is also a person in long term recovery from an opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder and a certified peer support specialist. He was the founding CEO of one of the nation’s premier recovery community centers-FAVOR Upstate. FAVOR Upstate remains one of the most high profile and effective recovery support programs in the Southeast. Rich has over 25 years of management experience and has been instrumental in launching and rebuilding multiple programs nationwide. He is passionate about providing quality care and supporting people in need. As the co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer of Youturn Health and the Founder / CEO of the BuildWell Health employee assistance/coaching program, Richard is focused on fundamentally transforming the delivery of behavioral health services.
Most importantly, Rich is a person in long term recovery since 2001 and a person in family recovery. Rich has distinguished himself as a leader in the national recovery movement serving on multiple boards and committees including the NIDA Clinical Trials Network, SAMHSA office of recovery, NIDA CIRCL peer support group, FAVOR Western Pennsylvania, and Sages Army two regional Recovery Community Centers in Western Pennsylvania.

Personal Stories Speaker – Jessica Solaguren,
Jessica Solaguren a dedicated professional working in the medical field. She is coming up on nine years in recovery from substance use, a journey that has shaped her passion for supporting others in their own healing. Her lived experience gives her a unique perspective on resilience, recovery, and the importance of accessible mental health resources. She is deeply committed to breaking stigma and fostering compassion within both her personal and professional communities. At the Summit, she hopes to share her story as an example of perseverance and hope for others navigating similar paths.

Industry Speaker – Carolyn Delaney, Founder of Journey Enterprises
Carolyn Delaney is the founder of Journey Enterprises, a media company dedicated to making recovery from addiction visible, understood, and supported. After two decades in IT leadership, she launched Journey Magazine, a quarterly print publication that elevates recovery stories and brings compassionate conversations into everyday life.
In 2024, she launched the Recovery and Well-being Alliance to unite employers, community leaders, and advocates around recovery-informed action. Together with subject matter experts, they created Recovery Basics—a free, shareable course offering foundational information on addiction, recovery, and how to support loved ones without judgment or stigma.
Carolyn, her team and the Alliance are fiercely devoted to creating on-ramps for cultural change—where one informed person can empower another, and fewer people struggle in silence.
Personal Stories Speaker - Devin Curit, Safety Director at Dayton Sand & Gravel
Devin Curit is the Safety Director at Dayton Sand and Gravel based in Dayton, ME, as well as an owner of his own trucking company. After graduating high school one Sunday in 2017, Devin jumped right into his career in the industry the next day as an equipment operator. Over the following three years, Devin advanced his career as an operator before accepting a position as Safety Director with Dayton Sand & Gravel in 2020.
Mental Health is a big part of not only his role at Dayton Sand & Gravel, but his life, noting his own experiences growing up, as well as the loss of family members, including his mother.
Devin Curit resides in Saco, Maine with his wife & two young kids. He enjoys ice fishing, hunting, racing, and "aggravating his wife" in his free time.

Industry Speaker - Col. Bo Balcavage
Colonel (retired) Bo Balcavage enlisted in the US Army in 1983 and graduated from the United States Military Academy 1989. He has served on deployments/assignments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, Jordan, The Sinai, and Kosovo. He retired in 2017 and began post-Army life in Kennebunkport, Maine, with his wife Kim. Bo and Kim established, grew, and sold a leadership development company, and successfully sold that company in 2023. Bo currently coaches military decision making to U.S. Army brigades combat teams. He actively volunteers with several Maine non-profits: Boots2Roots, the American Legion, and 100 Men Who Care, Southern Maine.

Panel Moderator - Margo Walsh, Founder & CEO of MaineWorks
Margo Walsh is a thought leader and social entrepreneur who founded MaineWorks in 2011. MaineWorks is a social staffing company dedicated to employing people in recovery from substance use disorder and reentry from jail and prison, (usually the same population). MaineWorks provides skilled and unskilled labor to the industrial construction sector in Northern New England. In 2013, MaineWorks became the first Certified B Corp in Maine. In response to the complexities of employing people in reentry and recovery, Margo later co-founded United Recovery Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and Cecil’s Place Sober Living. As a proud member of Associated General Contractors of Maine, MaineWorks hosted the first non-traditional cohort of Maine Construction Academy in 2025.
A native of Cumberland, Maine, Margo earned a BA in Psychology from Wheaton College. Margo began her career as a recruiter in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs in New York. Currently, Margo is speaking widely about the difficult task of employing people in reentry and recovery given the complex mental health profile which usually accompanies substance use.

Panel Speaker - Kyle O'Connell, NS Giles
Kyle O'Connell is the Director of Business Development and Health and Safety for N.S. Giles Foundations, Maine’s premier concrete construction company. He is in his 14th year of service with the Air National Guard, where he has completed two overseas deployments to Kuwait and Africa. As part of his military service, Kyle serves as a Suicide Prevention Trainer, equipping fellow servicemembers with the tools to recognize warning signs and build resilience.
Beyond his professional and military commitments, Kyle is deeply rooted in his community. He serves as President of the Orrington Little League and has coached multiple youth sports teams, emphasizing mentorship, teamwork, and personal growth for young athletes.
Kyle lives in Orrington with his wife, their two children, and two dogs. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and sharing those traditions with his family. His diverse experiences across leadership, service, and community engagement give him a unique perspective on the importance of mental health awareness and support.

Panel Speaker - Jill Rivas, Crooker Construction
Jill Rivas, Director of Human Resources at Crooker Construction in Topsham, Maine is an accomplished HR professional with over 20 years of experience in the human resources field.
Jill is responsible for implementing human resource management strategies that enable Crooker to recruit, train, and retain a high performing and motivated workforce. Jill specializes in employee relations, developing and implementing on-boarding, training and development, and performance management. Jill holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine.

Panel Speaker - Sean Ryan, Turner Construction
Sean Ryan is the EHS Program Manager HQ at Turner Construction Company, where he leads efforts to strengthen safety performance and compliance across the organization through development of standardized best practices and policy. With over 15 years of experience in environmental health and safety, Sean has worked in construction, steel fabrication, and healthcare, developing proactive safety programs that protect workers and foster healthier, more sustainable workplaces.
A Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Sean has held leadership roles at Turner Construction, Mercy Health System of Maine, and Casco Bay Steel, consistently driving initiatives that go beyond compliance to build cultures of trust, collaboration, and care. He has contributed to national conversations on safety and worker well-being through his involvement with the National Safety Council and as a past president of the American Society of Safety Professionals’ Maine Chapter.
Passionate about supporting the mental health of construction workers, Sean advocates for viewing safety through a holistic lens—one that includes psychological safety and emotional resilience as much as physical protection. He brings a unique perspective on how the industry can reduce stigma, create supportive environments, and empower individuals to speak up for their own well-being and that of their peers.
Sean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health from Keene State College. He lives in Gorham, Maine, with his wife and two young children.

Closing Speaker - Chris Guild, Director of Training and Client Accounts at Wellness Workdays
Chris Guild is the Director of Training and Client Accounts at Wellness Workdays, where he leads the training of Behavioral Health Coaches and oversees client company programs. With extensive training experience across diverse industries—including construction, healthcare, law enforcement, and education—he specializes in behavior change and communication strategies. A Certified Behavioral Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Trauma Coach, and Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Chris is also a proud member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, bringing evidence-based expertise and compassionate guidance to every aspect of his work.
