November 8, 2017, Augusta, Maine-The Associated General Contractors of Maine honored Maine Construction firms for their safety records at a banquet at the Senator Inn. “Celebrating safety is important, but ensuring safety programs are enacted and being followed every day is critical. The firms selected for national awards demonstrate that Maine employers and employees are getting the job done,” said Jon Smith, AGC Maine Board President.

Recognizing AGC Contractor Members for Safety Excellence Since 1926, the National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program has been an ongoing effort to offer AGC members an opportunity to evaluate their safety record. NASA compares a firm’s safety record with other AGC members across the nation according to the member’s size and construction type. NASA provides an excellent opportunity for contractor members that have an outstanding safety record to compete for nationally recognized awards.

Members participating the program receive a scorecard that helps with improvements and benchmarks against similar firms throughout the United States. It’s another tool in the box to keep everyone focused on safety,” said Smith.

This year the following safety and member awards were recognized for NASA:
