Pete Vigue Announces Senior Management Promotions

Moves Impact Cianbro’s Efforts in Fabrication, Transmission and Distribution, Wind, and Modules

Over the past few years, we have successfully modified Cianbro’s business structure and leadership team to meet evolving market demands and the growth of our companies.  Today, we continue to focus on the future as we organize our businesses and leadership teams to meet the challenges of today, strengthen our management bench strength, and prepare the next generation of leadership for future growth.  As the next step in this process, I am proud to announce the following promotions, effective December 1, 2009:

At the Board of Directors meeting held in November, the Board appointed Jack Klimp as Vice President and GeneralJack KlimpManager of Cianbro Fabrication and Coating Corporation (CFCC).  Jack has served as General Manager of CFCC since 2008, and is responsible for overall operations of the Fabrication and Coating Facilities located in Pittsfield, Maine and Baltimore, Maryland.  Responsibilities include safety, profitability, client satisfaction, business development, guidance in decision making, bid reviews, general company philosophy and procedure conformance with contract documents, training, team member selection, team member retention and development, cost control, production, and minimizing downtime.  Jack’s career includes wide-ranging experience in the steel industry, from his beginnings as a Foreman for Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to General Manager for the L.B. Foster Company – Precise Structural Products, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Board also appointed Joe Cote as Vice President and General Manager of Cianbro Constructors, LLC.  JoeJoe Cotejoined Cianbro Constructors in February of 2008.  Seven months later, he was promoted to General Manager at Cianbro’s Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer, Maine, where he is responsible for the day to day operations of the facility, including safety, production, and the financial results of the operation.  Prior to joining Cianbro, Joe spent nine years as Vice President and General Manager at Bangor Gas Company, a local natural gas distribution company located in Bangor, Maine.  He also served 14 years at the construction firm, Sullivan and Merritt, Inc., as Vice President of Engineering.  Joe has more than 25 years of experience in construction management, including the development and management of greenfield capital projects.

In January 2010, we will recognize the T&D Group as a Business Unit under Cianbro Corporation.  We have askedJon SharpJonathan Sharp to assume the role of General Manager, Transmission & Distribution, reporting to Earle Cianchette.  Jon will be responsible for the company’s Transmission and Distribution business.  He has 22 years of experience in the T&D industry.  His knowledge and experience encompass telecom, fiber optics, duct bank construction, substation construction, and transmission line construction up to 765 kV.  Jon’s responsibilities have included management of the Transmission and Distribution electrical group, including bid reviews, general company philosophy and business procedures as well as business development, operations, and development of training and safety programs.  Additional responsibilities have included providing resources necessary to maintain field operations, including contract management, estimating, and management of the bidding process, and client relationships.
With our focus on wind energy opportunities, we have asked Parker Hadlock to assume the role of General Manager ofParker Hadlock Wind Energy Services, reporting to Earle Cianchette.  Parker will be responsible for overseeing new wind ventures and opportunities, including offshore wind development, strategic planning, plan implementation, market analysis, submittals (RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs), as well as business relations (customer, partner, subcontractor, and consultant). Parker has over 28 years of construction experience working in operations, on the largest projects Cianbro has ever completed, in various capacities, from a project Engineer to a Senior Project Manager. Parker has the overall responsibility for the development and implementation of new wind projects, and will work closely with the Business Development team.
