Peter Cianchette Becomes President of Starcon International, Inc.

 Cianbro Executive Will Take the Helm of Construction Company’s Refinery and Petrochemical Services Firm

 Peter Cianchette is the new President and Chief Operating Officer of Starcon International, Inc.  The announcement was made by Peter Vigue, the Chairman and CEO of Cianbro, which is Starcon’s parent company and is the Maine-based firm which was co-founded by Cianchette’s father in 1949.  Besides significant industrial experience in the private sector, Peter’s credentials include such former titles as Vice President of Business Development for Cianbro, United States Ambassador to Costa Rica, and 2002 nominee for governor of Maine.  Peter has served more than 25 years with Cianbro and will be relocating to Starcon’s home base in the Houston, Texas area with his wife Carolyn.

Starcon International, Inc., is a company based in Texas with a roster of 1,500 team members operating throughout the United States.  The company was established in 1985, and is a leader in offering creative solutions and reliable performance to the demanding U.S. refining and petrochemical industry.  Starcon provides mechanical and turnaround contractor services in many of the refinery and petrochemical operations located throughout the United States.  The company has developed proprietary programs and patented tooling to serve the industry. The Cianbro Companies acquired Starcon in 2010, enhancing Cianbro’s focus on industrial, electrical and transportation infrastructure construction, steel fabrication and coating, and modular manufacturing.  The acquisition launched one of the East Coast’s largest diversified general contractors into the $12 billion refining and petrochemical service business, with nationwide presence.
